How To Look After Your Pet’s Paws

Kitten paws Paws up if you love your pet! As a pet owner, you’ll know that it's important to look after your pet's paws. Complete paw care will help to prevent any injuries or discomfort for your pet. This involves keeping nails trimmed, their pads clean and moisturised as well as tidying any excess hair. It’s recommended that you start paw care from a young age and get your pet used to having their paws handled, as this will help you in the future. Read our guide to paw care below.

Regular Paw Checks

To ensure your pet’s paws are healthy, make sure you check them regularly. You should be looking at the nail length as well as the colour and texture of the pad. If your pet seems to be licking their paws a lot or limping at all, this could be a sign that they need some attention.

Moisturise & Protect Paw Pads

Our NEW Pretty Paw Protection Spray is perfect for protecting big and little paws! It will help to treat and prevent dry or cracked pads. Made from a gentle formula with natural, soothing ingredients to restore moisture of all pets’ paws. It’s also a great opportunity to give your pet a little paw massage to encourage blood flow. Trim & Tidy Excess Paw Hair

Some pets may have long paw hair that's prone to matting and picking up dirt. To keep on top of this, you can use a Pet Trimmer to keep them tidy. This compact trimmer set is designed to make it easy for you to get in between the paws. It’s small and quiet, which is great for pets that might be nervous about having their paws trimmed. Keep Nails Trimmed

Ensure nails are carefully trimmed for their safety and comfort. These Pet Nail Clippers are specifically designed for pets, with a built-in safety lock and blade guide that helps to avoid cutting the “quick” (blood vessel in your pets’ claws) thanks to the spacer bracket feature. If you are unsure about cutting your pet’s claws at home, you should see your vet for guidance or visit your local groomer.
